SAVOY — Beatrice May Carlson, 89, of Savoy, formerly of Princeton, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at C-U Regional Rehab Center in Savoy.
Born Nov. 3, 1922, in Rockford to C. Arthur and Hulda (Holm) Nelson, she married William Ernest Carlson Oct. 14, 1949, in Rockford. He died March 15, 2001.
She resided most of her married life in Princeton, where she was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church. She was a homemaker and attended Mattis Ave. Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, David (Carol) Carlson of Peoria and Randy (Sandy) Carlson of Bartonville; one daughter, Christine (Jeff) Joslin of Mahomet; one brother, Richard (Jean) Nelson of Suquamish, Wash.; five grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Carlson of Albuquerque, N.M., Barry Carlson of Peoria, Calvin Joslin of Nashville, Tenn., Beck Joslin of Nashville, Tenn., and Janice (Thomas) Murray of Bartonville; and one great-granddaughter, Linnea Grace Murray.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Corrine Palmquist; and one grandson, Aaron Carlson.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. March 2 at Mattis Ave. Free Methodist Church, 1913 S. Mattis Ave., Champaign, with Pastor Herb Coates officiating. A second memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 24 in the Oakland Cemetery Chapel in Princeton with Pastor John Weborg officiating.
