Lady Lions have good building blocks

LAMOILLE — With only five returning players, LaMoille/Ohio softball coach Fred Bell said his Lady Lions are in a building mode. But he likes the building blocks he has in place.

That building project starts with the Lady Lions returners — senior Erika Walzer (catcher) and juniors Mary Pinter (OF), Brittany Chasteen (1B/P) and Ashley Schrader (CF). They will serve as team captains. Sophomore infielder Alexis Beard is also back in the fold.

Bell is most pleased to bring in four girls from Ohio and all four will start he said — senior Tori DeWaele (SS/P), junior Sammy O’Brien (OF), sophomore Vanessa Martinez (LF/1B)and freshman Kaitlyn Hughes (3B).
