Hold them
accountable

I read an article a while back, and the facts stated are still true today. I would like to relay them to all concerned Americans. Since my space is controlled, I will write a few of these facts.

Our politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and campaign against them when up for re-election.

Have you ever thought that if both the Republicans and Democrats are against deficits, why do we have deficits?

If all politicians are against inflation and high taxes, why do we have inflation and high taxes?

We the people do not propose a federal budget, the president does.

We the people do not have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

We the people don’t write tax codes; Congress does.

We don’t set fiscal policy; Congress does.

We don’t control monetary policy; the Federal Reserve Bank does.

We have 100 senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices which comes to 545 human beings out of more than 300 million who are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that haunt us today.

These 545 human beings continually try to convince us that what they did was not their fault. It doesn’t matter if they are Republican or Democrat.

The separation between a politician and a normal human being is the excessive amount of gall. When a speaker criticizes the president for creating deficits, the president can only propose a budget; he can’t force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for origination and approving appropriations and taxes. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they all agree to.

If a nation of more than 300 million people can not replace 545 people that the facts show their incompetence and irresponsibility. I don’t think there is one domestic problem that the 545 have not been connected to. The plain truth is that these 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, so what we have must be what they want.

If the tax code is unfair, they must want it this way.

If the budget is red, they must want it this way.

There should not be any insoluble government problems.

These 545 people are responsible for our government problems; they and they alone have the power to fix them not just create them.

They are all our employees so we should vote them all our of office and start over again, and if the new can’t get the job done, then they are gone also until we get politicians in office that work for the people, not the lobbyists.

One hundred years ago our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. Today we have at least 46 more taxes, and we are in deep debt. What has happened? Guess ... POLITICIANS.
