Illinois Valley Hospice will host national teleconference on ‘End-of-Life’ ethics
PERU — Illinois Valley Hospice is again the local sponsor for the Hospice Foundation of America’s annual teleconference, which this year has “End-of-Life Ethics” as it theme.
The program can be viewed beginning at 12:30 p.m. April 25 in the conference room of the Illinois Valley Hospice building on Sixth Street in Peru, just east of Illinois Valley Community Hospital. While there is no charge to attend the teleconference, pre-registration is required by calling 815-224-1307.
The program will examine, using a case study approach, the ethical issues and dilemmas that emerge at the end of life, the principles of ethical decision-making and the effects of these decisions on staff and families, according to Polly Inman, Illinois Valley Hospice coordinator.
Lynn Sherr, former ABC News 20/20 correspondent, will lead a panel of noted authorities in the discussion.
Illinois Valley Hospice is a department of IVCH.
