Twins Club

PRINCETON — Melinda Petit-Homme invites anyone in the Princeton area who has multiples to join her Twins Club. The group will have monthly meetings to mingle, exchange information and support one another. To join the club, contact Melinda at 815-503-4403.

Legion meeting

SPRING VALLEY — Dominic OBerto Spring Valley American Legion will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 307 W. St. Paul St.

Special presentation

TISKILWA — The Tiskilwa Historical Society and Tiskilwa Public Library will present “An Evening with Mary Todd Lincoln: Featuring Laura Keyes” at 7 p.m. Monday at Museum on Main at 110 E. Main St. in Tiskilwa. The presentation focuses on the life and losses of Mrs. Lincoln and is set on April 14, 1865, as she prepares for an evening at the theatre with her husband and friends.

Book club meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the community meeting room at the library. They will read “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver. Anyone is invited to join the group in discussing this book. The group is sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library.

DAR meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet for 9:30 a.m. coffee time April 14 at the Prouty Community Bldg. 435 S. Main St. Junior member Karen Schwiderski will present the program “Women and Home Disaster Emergency Plans.” Hostesses are Judy Schwiderski, chairman; Sharon Murphy, Karen Schwiderski and Jean Watkins.

Meeting set

PRINCETON — The Princeton Junior Extension HCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Joann Johnson. Co-hostess will be Dorothy Herrick. The lesson will be “The Versatile Bean,” given by Joann Johnson.

Spaghetti dinner

SPRING VALLEY — The 28th annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner hosted by the Spring Valley United Church of Christ will be from 4 to 7 p.m. April 21 in the church hall. Tickets are $6 for adults and a child’s portion for children 6 and under is $3. Tickets are available from church members or at the door. Drive up carry-out orders are available at no extra charge. The church is located at the intersection of Erie and Power streets. Use the west alley entrance when coming to dinner.
