PRINCETON — The Bureau County Housing Authority will host an open house at the Princeton Hi-Rise from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The Hi-Rise staff will be on hand to conduct guided tours of the building and answer questions. Additionally, the Section 8 coordinator will host a meet and greet information session with any landlords interested in the program. Refreshments will be provided.
PRINCETON — The Hampshire Woman’s Circle will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ye Olde Underground Inn for its monthly dinner meeting. Members should note the time change. SPRING VALLEY — Secretary of State Jesse White, in cooperation with the Richard A. Mautino Library, 215 E. Cleveland St., will offer a free Rules of the Road course from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 20 for all citizens in the area. The purpose of the course is to help participants pass the Illinois driver’s license renewal examination. The course prepares applicants for the general written and road examinations, and also provides information on the vision screening. Call 815-663-4741 to register.
Red Hats event
PRINCETON — The Princeton Red Hats will celebrate an Easter parade at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Princeton Elks Lodge. The best bonnet will win a free lunch. Members should bring chocolate candy eggs.
WYANET — The Wyanet Community Club will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. They will serve rib eyes, butterfly chops, brats, pork burgers, hot dogs and chips.
SPRING VALLEY — All area lady golfers are invited to attend the Spring Creek Ladies Golf League opening dinner Wednesday at John’s North Star Inn in LaSalle. Cocktails at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Ladies will have the opportunity to learn about the Spring Creek Golf League activities.
