IDOT hosts public meeting on Route 89 bridge

SPRING VALLEY — The Illinois Department of Transportation, District 3, will host a public information meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. April 12 in the lower level community room of Spring Valley City Hall, 215 N. Greenwood St., to discuss a study for replacing the existing bridge carrying Route 89 over the Illinois River south of Spring Valley.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project and to receive public comments and gather information about transportation issues and concerns in this area. One of the alternatives under consideration may require closure of Route 89 during construction. Additional right of way may be required throughout the project.

The meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format with IDOT personnel available to receive input, provide information and answer questions about the study. Related exhibits will be available for the public to view and provide comments. Exhibits and comment sheets will be available at the city hall for two weeks following the meeting. There will be no formal presentation. All interested persons are invited to attend and participate. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability.

Persons with a disability planning to attend this meeting, who are in need of special accommodations, sign language interpreter or other similar assistance, should notify Duane Lukkari of this office by Monday. Write to the Illinois Department of Transportation, 700 E.
