Doris Wiemken

DIXON — Doris M. Wiemken, 82, of Dixon passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, in her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Dixon, the youngest daughter of Leo and Elsie (Gordon) Heckman. She married Eldon Wiemken on July 12, 1952, in Dixon, where they made their home. They would have had their 60th anniversary this summer.

Doris dedicated her life to raising their two daughters and their cattle business, Walnut Auction Sales, along with their love of traveling and showing American Quarter Horses.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon; one daughter, Debbie (Scott) Cuvelier of Cascade, Iowa; and her two beloved grandchildren, Caley Coffey of Tioga, Texas, and Conner Coffey of Fort Lewis, Wash.; along with one sister, Lucille Lindblom of Kenosha, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her dear daughter, Jayne Coffey on Oct. 11, 2004.

Visitation with be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Dixon, followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service at the church, with the Rev. Mike Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Rock River Valley and the First United Methodist Church, Dixon.
