April 15-21 is National Volunteer Week

Thank you to all Extension volunteers! Your work helps improve the quality of life for all Bureau County residents.

Some of our newly-developed statewide 4-H materials include the tagline “What if you could change the world?” Four-H provides youth with opportunities to value and practice service to others. In doing so, youth learn that they have an important role to play in their community and that their lives have value and meaning. They can also discover ways they can be active participants in the future and make decisions that positively impact the lives of others.

While preparing for last year’s 4-H Fair, I asked each club to list one way they are “changing the world.” Throughout the year I visit the clubs and am always amazed to see the many wonderful service projects they have chosen to undertake. Here are a few of the highlights:
