Mel Hult dies at 79

PRINCETON — Long-time law enforcement officer and community leader Mel Hult has put away his badge for the final time and rested from his community work.

Hult died Wednesday at the age of 79.

On Friday, Princeton residents talked about Hult’s lasting impact on Bureau County law enforcement, his involvement with the Bureau County Fair, and the various youth sports programs in which he was involved, and on his family and friends.
