Bureau County Chorus will present opening concert Friday

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Chorus will present “An Opening Concert” beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton.

Part I of the concert program is a reprise of their “Music of Broadway” presentation with highlights from various musicals presented during previous Homestead Festivals, including songs from “Oklahoma,” “Paint Your Wagon,” “South Pacific,” “Annie,” “Hello Dolly,” “Grease,” “The Music Man” and “Mame.”

Part II of the concert program includes music theater selections from both Broadway shows (some of which have been presented locally) and others from the movies. Songs are from “Les Miserable,” “A Chorus Line,” “Godspell,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Pocahontas,” “The Prince of Egypt” and “Wicked.”
