Names, addresses wanted
PRINCETON — The American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary of Princeton is once again seeking names and complete addresses of troops overseas serving in Iraq and Afghanistan so the Auxiliary Unit can send them a Christmas box. Names and addresses will be accepted through Oct. 31 by sending to VA&R chairperson Clara Pease, 321 Briar Lane, Princeton, IL 61356; or mail to American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary, 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton, IL 61356, Attn.: Overseas Troops.
LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage biscuit from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lions Club, 308 Howard St., LaMoille. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, hams, toast, milk, juice and coffee. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for ages 5-10. Proceeds will benefit the LaMoille Athletic Boosters.
Chicken and biscuit dinner
PRINCETON — The Hampshire Colony Congregational Church will host its annual chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:45 to 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $3 for adults, and $3 or children (half portion). Carryouts will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m. Bake sale items will also be offered. The church is handicap accessible. The dinner is the church’s major fundraiser.
Home economists to meet
PRINCETON — Professional Home Economists of Bureau County will begin the program year on Wednesday with lunch at Ray’s Place in Hennepin, followed by a guided tour of Putnam County Historical Society’s Pulsifer House, a historic home built in 1844, and also the Agricultural building. Members and guests will meet at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton at 11:15 a.m. to car pool to Hennepin. For reservations and information, call Carol McGee at 815-875-8491.
