OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Community College Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Gene Montgomery, will be in concert at 3 p.m. Oct. 7 in the LaSalle-Peru High School Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Music to be performed includes selections by Grainger, Gounod, Sheldon, Meyer, Arnold, Sondheim and more. A special feature will be Niki Perrin performing a bass clarinet solo.

The Wind Ensemble consistently achieves quality music performances through on-campus concerts, off-campus community presentations and conference festival appearances. The group has cooperated with university and community bands in joint concerts and performed twice for the Illinois Music Educators Music Association All-State Conference.
