Owney and Mr. ZIP at festival
Abbie (left) and Alivia Shute are pictured with Owney the postal dog and Mr. Zip during this year’s Homestead Festival. Owney, the mascot that provided good luck to the Railway Mail Service, returned to the Homestead Festival after a century of riding the rails. Mr. Zip gave personality to the U.S. Postal Service ZIP Code campaign in 1963.
