It looks like some cooler, fall-like weather is headed our way, and I have to tell you I absolutely love the crispness of the season. On the other side of that proverbial colored leaf, though, I have to also tell you I absolutely detest the idea of it getting dark earlier. I guess I can’t have my caramel apple and eat it too, so to speak.

I hope you like the photo on the front page today. I snapped it on my way to work very early Monday morning. I hate driving in the fog, but the way the low-lying fog enveloped us with the sun attempting to peek through was absolutely breathtaking. Autumn — which officially begins on Saturday — is notorious for foggy mornings, so please drive with caution ... and watch out for crazy newspaper editors who think they need to stop to take a photo alongside the road. Duh!
