BCGS meeting will feature Civil War topic
PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday at the BCGS Library, 629 S. Main St. in Princeton.
The program will be given by Steve Dancey of Mendota. He will speak about Henry Eby, an area Civil War soldier who served with Company C Illinois Cavalry.
Dancey will highlight Eby’s everyday life as a soldier, the Battle of Chickamauga where he was captured, and his time as a prisoner of war.
