Bingo Night

WALNUT — The Walnut Chamber of Commerce will host a Bingo Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Walnut Community Center. The cost is $3 for two cards, $5 for four cards. Prizes will be sponsored by the Chamber. Snacks, sugar free included, will be provided.

Cookout planned

WYANET — The Princeton United Pentecostal Youth Group will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. The menu will include rib eyes, butterfly chops, brats, pork burgers, hot dogs and chips.

New website

PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans website, www.princetonveterans.org, is up and running. For more information, call the American Legion Post at 815-872-1171 and leave a message.

Woodcarving expo

UTICA — The 24th annual woodcarving expo will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Great Hall of Starved Rock Lodge. A wide variety of woodcarvings will be on display and available for purchase. Fundraiser planned

PRINCETON — Girl Scout Troop 4011, Wyanet, will host a Pizza Hut Buffet Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Princeton Pizza Hut. For tickets, contact Jill Carrington at 815-699-2455.

Meeting set

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 416 E. Dover Road, Princeton. The program, “Pieces of a Quilter’s Life,” will be presented by Beth Ferrier. Guests are welcome to attend for a $5 fee. A workshop, “Hand Applique by Machine,” will be presented by Ferrier from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6 at the church.

Annual dinner

MENDOTA — The Mendota Museum and Historical Society’s annual Heritage Dinner will be Oct. 20 at the Mendota Civic Center. Cocktails will be at 5 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. Immediately after the dinner will be a presentation on the history of printing in Mendota.
