PRINCETON — A Bureau man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to the Class 4 felony of theft/subsequent offense.

William E. Borsch, 29, entered his guilty plea on Sept. 13 before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei and was sentenced to two and one-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Borsch was also ordered to pay total fines, fees and costs of $1,000 from his bond.

He was credited with eight days served in the Bureau County Jail.

On Feb. 14, 2012, the Princeton Police Department investigated a retail theft at a local business involving Borsch stealing a bottle of Mike’s Hard Lemonade from a cooler inside the store. Video evidence obtained from the business clearly depicted the theft, and resulted in Borsch entering a negotiated plea.
