PERU — Citizens First National Bank is excited to be partnering with the Make a Wish Foundation and The Radio Group to spearhead the “Million Penny Project.” Citizens wants to bring local attention and focus to this cause that helps many children every day.

Since 1980, the Make a Wish Foundation has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, they have evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the United States every 40 minutes.

Citizens First National Bank will be collecting donations through Sept. 29 in an effort to raise one million pennies for a donation of $10,000. They are taking an active role to make this project a success and help make wishes come true one penny at a time.
