WALNUT — Esther C. Hubbard, 82, of Walnut died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.
Born Nov. 13, 1929, in West Brooklyn, Ill., to Earl and Marie (Jean Blanc) Mellott, she married Donald Heinzeroth. He preceded her in death in 1966. She then married Max Hubbard Sept. 10, 1969, in Mendota. He survives.
She operated, with her husband Max, the Gambles Store in Walnut for 30 years, worked as a clerk at the Winn-Dixi Grocery Store in Florida and ran Henpeck Antiques, retiring about five years ago.
Also surviving are two sons, Bill Heinzeroth of Florid and Jim Heinzeroth of Mountain Home, Ark.; three stepsons, Larry (Vicki) Hubbard of Rockford, Michael (Pam) Hubbard of Rock Falls and John (Cathy) Hubbard of Naples, Fla.; five grandchildren, Matthew Heinzeroth, Donald Heinzeroth, Kimberly Simpson, Julie Lee and Tim Funfsinn; five stepgrandchildren, Marie Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard, Gabriel Hubbard, Sean Hubbard and Allen Hubbard; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; one brother, Dale Mellott of LaSalle; one sister, Anges Clemans of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dona; two sisters, Ethel Kerchner and Ruth Ann Heinzeroth; two brothers, Donald Mellott and one brother in infancy; one grandson, Bill; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Roger Hubbard, pastor of Letts Bible Church in Wapello, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Mendota.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
