PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library will host a Virtual Read-Out event at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in recognition of the 30th anniversary celebration of Banned Books Week, Sept. 30-Oct. 6.

This is the second year in a row in which the American Library Association has invited readers from across the country and around the world to participate virtually by selecting a banned or challenged book and recording a short excerpt to be uploaded on a dedicated Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out YouTube channel.

On Oct. 2, the library will record local readers interested in participating, along with library staff and board members. Those who are not interested in reading can support the event by attending as audience members. Readers should select an excerpt no longer than 2 to 3 minutes long.
