Pigskin Previews - Week 6

Erie/Prophetstown (3-2, 3-2) at Hall (0-5, 0-5)

Gametime: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Nesti Stadium.

BCR insider: The Red Devils are still in the hunt for their first win, but it’s not going to be a good time to find it against E-P. The Panthers are fresh off last week’s upset over defending state champ and state-ranked Morrison and are making a run for the playoffs. Hall was knocked out of playoff eligibility with its fifth loss and will have to rise to the occasion to avoid its sixth.

Last week: E-P beat Morrison 29-28; Hall lost to Fulton 28-0.

Last year: Did not play

Radio: WAJK 99.3 FM.

Fulton (2-3, 2-3) at St. Bede (3-2, 3-2)

Gametime: 2 p.m. Saturday at SBA.

BCR insider: The Homecoming gathering at SBA will find the Bruins making another strong playoff push coming off an impressive win at Bureau Valley last week. With losses to Newman and Morrison behind them, the Bruins have a more favorable schedule remaining with only two teams — Amboy/LaMoille (5-0) and Erie-Prophetstown (3-2) — with more than two wins and are on track to reach the playoffs for the second straight year.

Last week: Fulton beat Hall 28-0; SBA beat BV 28-20.

Last year: SBA 41-8.

All-time series: Fulton 7-4.

Radio: WSOG 88.1 FM.

Bureau Valley (3-2, 3-2) at Riverdale (0-5, 0-5)

Gametime: 7 p.m. Friday, Port Byron

BCR insider: The Rams turned things around in 2011, reaching the playoffs with a 6-3 record. This year, however, they’re down on numbers and no longer playing F/S games. Still, the Storm can not afford a letdown and need to bounce back from last week’s loss to St. Bede in which they trailed by 21 points until scoring two late TDs.

Last week: Riverdale lost to newman 53-6; BV lost to St. Bede 28-20.

Last year: PBR 25-14.

All-time series: BV 11-4.

Radio: WZOE 98.1 FM.

Amboy/LaMoille (5-0, 5-0) at Morrison (3-2, 3-2)

Gametime: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Morrison.

BCR insider: The Clippers remain in the Big Rivers title hunt, but will find the waters a little rough in Morrison with the Mustangs looking to bounce back from last week’s upset loss to Erie-Prophetstown.

Last week: Morrison lost to E-P 29-28; Amboy beat Kewanee 14-7.

Last year: Morrison 10-0.
