Corn harvest continues in Bureau County and throughout the Corn Belt. More than 54 percent of the crop was estimated to have been harvested as of the beginning of the week, and that statistic is sure to jump when new numbers are released Monday. The average harvest percentage at this time for the past five years is only 23 percent.
