MINERAL — Phyllis J. Morey, 79, of Mineral died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo.

Phyllis was born in Mineral on Jan. 6, 1933, to Roy and Cecelia (Doubler) Rakestraw. She graduated from Mineral High School in 1951, and was united in marriage to Benny Morey on June 7, 1951, in Princeton. He survives.
 

Phyllis served as Mineral Postmaster for 36 years until retiring in 1998. She also had worked as a cook for Mineral School District for many years. Phyllis was a lifelong member of Mineral United Methodist Church where she served as organist for more than 40 years. She also served as president of the Mineral-Gold Library for 26 years.
