Illinois Valley Midday Connection to meet Tuesday

OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Midday Connection, a non-denominational Christian Women’s Group, invites all women from the Illinois Valley area to it’s monthly luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Deer Park Country Club, 100 Deer Park Lane, Oglesby, (south off of Route 71, about 1/2 mile west of Route 178).

The theme for October is “Silent Auction”.  The cost for the lunch and program is $15 inclusive, paid at the door.

There are no membership fees or special requirements to attend. Deer Park is handicapped accessible, except for the rest room.

The special feature will be items for a silent auction setup before the beginning of the luncheon to be bid on by attendees. There will be baked goods, craft items and special donated treasures to bid on. Proceeds go to the clubs yearly expenses and to Stonecroft Ministries projects.

Guest speaker is Ramona Wink from Columbus Junction, Iowa, with the title “The Building Blocks of Life.” Ramona will demonstrate how her “Building Blocks” have changed from her “old life” to a new life of meaning and purpose. She has a degree in communications from the University of Iowa.

The planning team of officers for the new year will be named.

This event is sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries of Kansas City, Mo.
