Six advance from Class A regionals

Six area boys representing four schools qualified for sectionals in 1A from three different regional sites Tuesday.

At Seneca: Two Hall Red Devils and two St. Bede Bruins played their way out of the Seneca regional at Nettle Creek Golf Course Tuesday. The Bruins finished within just one stroke of qualifying as a team, finishing fourth place (364) behind Aurora Christian (363).

St. Bede’s Joey Dudek posted the fifth-best score of the day at 82, second-best among advancing individuals who were not members of advancing teams. Hall’s Pete Mautino was seventh overall at 85 to advance with teammate Nick Scheri (89) and Jaret Olson (92) to Monday’s sectional competition in Elgin at the Golf Club of Illinois.
