Trivia night

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Ambulance Service will host a trivia night Oct. 20, at the LaMoille Lions Club. All proceeds go towards the purchase of a new ambulance. Tables are $100 for teams of up to 10 people. There will be a silent auction and a cash bar. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Trivia starts at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Blood drives

American Red Cross blood drives are scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Neponset Community Building, 120 W. Commercial St. in Neponset and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Bureau County Fairgrounds, 811 W. Peru St. in Princeton.

Quilt Guild meeting

OGLESBY — The Nine Patch Quilt Guild will hold its October meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Dickenson House in Oglesby. The round robin quilt squares are due back with round three border (squares) finished. Plans will be finalized for the retreat being held on Oct. 19, 20, and 21. The Nine Patch Quilt Guild regularly meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Dickenson House in Oglesby.   New members are welcome. For information, call Jean Daley at 815-883-8725. 

Legion to meet

SPRING VALLEY — The Dominic Oberto American Legion Post will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Club rooms, 307 W. St. Paul St. in Spring Valley.

Optimist fruit sale

PRINCETON — The Princeton Optimist Club’s major fundraiser of the year, the selling of Texas oranges and grapefruit, has begun. The cost of the fruit is $19 for a 20-pound box of grapefruit or oranges or $21 for a 20-pound mixed box. Order forms can be picked up and turned at the Bureau County Senior Center, the Princeton Chamber of Commerce, Gustafson Ace Hardware, Kramer’s Restaurant or any Optimist member. You can also place your order by calling Jess Schroyer at 815-875-1266 or Gary Patterson at 815-875-3767. All orders must be made by Oct. 29 with delivery on Nov. 19. Proceeds benefit Optimist projects centering on the youth of Bureau County, including the Halloween Parade and movie, the pumpkin races, the Easter egg hunt and other events.

Southern gospel event

PRINCETON — The Chosen Ones, a family southern gospel singing group, will perform at the Victory Worship Center at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Victory Worship Center is located at 877 E. Peru St.
