Widmark, Tracy star in Wednesday western
PRINCETON — The fifth installment in the Widmark Wednesday film series begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the meeting room at Princeton Public Library. Admission is free.
Richard Widmark stars in a 1954 western drama with one of his biggest Hollywood heroes, the legendary Spencer Tracy.
Tracy portrays a domineering cattle baron whose three older sons (Widmark, Hugh O’Brian and Earl Holliman) come to resent the favored treatment their overbearing father bestows on a younger half-brother (Robert Wagner). The movie concludes with a climactic confrontation between Widmark and Wagner.
