Complaint dismissed
IVCC cleared on federal complaint
OGLESBY — A complaint alleging gender discrimination and retaliation against Illinois Community College has been dismissed.
On Friday, IVCC announced it had received word on Thursday the federal complaint, filed by a former college employee, was dismissed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for lack of evidence.
The complaint was filed by Peru resident Crystal Loughran, a former security guard at IVCC. Loughran, six other part-time security officers, two full-time safety services officers and the part-time interim director of safety services were honorably discharged by the IVCC Board in July 2011. The discharges followed the approval by the board of a three-year contract with G4S Secure Solutions, Inc. to provide privatized campus security.
