Princeton DAR celebrates the signing of the U.S. Constitution

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution September meeting was held Sept. 7 in the Bureau County Republican Community Room. The Chapter celebrated the 225th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, which took place Sept. 17, 1787.

Constitution Week Chapter Chairman Victoria Kapp presented the program “The Citizens’ Responsibility.” Regent Sharon Bittner led members in the opening ritual with special emphasis on the group reading of the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution.

Nancy Gillfillan read the National Defense report, which was written by Bittner, placing third at National as the best letter to the editor contest. Juanita Tarrence read the President General’s message.
