Tigresses win first tournament

MENDOTA — The Princeton Tigress tennis team has won all their dual meets this season. Now they’ve won their first tournament.

The Tigresses captured the Mendota Invitational Saturday, topping Sterling Newman 30-24 for top honors. PHS claimed a first and a second in singles and swept both doubles divisions.

Makenzey Wlson won all three matches, defeating St. Bede’s Claudia Szezpaniak 6-3, 6-2 in the championship. She also defeated Coal City 6-3, 7-5 and Newman 6-0, 6-0 to improve her record to 21-3.
