Birthday Party for Anderson's 80th

An open house to celebrate the 80th birthday of Ralph D. Anderson of Wyanet will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Bishop Hill Colony School in Bishop Hill.

Ralph was born Oct. 18, 1932, at home in Bishop Hill. He married his wife, Marcella, on July 2, 1993. He has five children, Alan (Rhonda) Anderson of Altona, Sheri Burgoyne of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Cyndi (Lee) Thompson of Cambridge, Rex Feurer of Manitou, Colo., and Heather Pairan of Colorado Springs, Colo. He also has 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ralph was a Korean War veteran. He then farmed in rural Galva/LaFayette until the late 1960s when he moved his family to Cambridge and became a full-time Amway distributor. He moved to Wyanet in the early 1990s and owns Anderson Lawn Care. He is the current V.F.W. Post 6634 commander, a member of the Bureau County Board, past president of the Cambridge Rotary Club, and a member of the Cambridge Lutheran Church and past board member.
