Fundraiser planned

LADD — The Illinois Valley Community College women’s basketball team will host a chicken dinner fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Rip’s Tavern, 311 N. Main Ave., Ladd. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased from any player or from coach Pat Cinotte. Dinner options include quarter light, quarter dark and chicken strips. Woodcrafters meeting

PRINCETON — Woodcrafters Unlimited will meet Thursday at the Bureau County Senior Center, 16 W. Marion St. in Princeton. Show and tell will start at 6:30 p.m. and meeting will be at 7 p.m. This month’s program will include a quiz on woodworking by Dave Sawitoski. Anyone interested in woodworking is invited to attend. Annual toy run

PRINCETON — The eighth annual Illinois Valley Toy Run will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Darius Miller Park in Princeton. A 40-mile cruise will be at 11:30 a.m. The entry fee is a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 for a boy or girl. The event will also include a 50/50 drawing, with proceeds going to the local food pantry, door prizes, giant dash plaques and on-site photographs. Halloween party

OHIO — The Ohio Public Library will have a Halloween party at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 27. There will be activities and food, as well as a costume contest. They library is also selling butter braids for a fundraiser. Orders can be placed at the library or with any board member and are due by Nov. 2.

Meeting set

WYANET — The Wyanet Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Historical Hall. Members are encouraged to attend as plans for the chili and soup supper in November will be made.
