Michael Linley

ALTON — Michael Francis Linley, 57, of Alton, formerly of Walnut, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born Sept. 28, 1955, in Madison, Wis., the son of Robert Howard Linley of Walnut and the late C. Virginia (Dodge) Linley. He was owner/operator of Linley Distributing in Alton, and a member of Alton American Legion Post 126. Michael had an infectious laugh and always stood out in a crowd. He will be remembered as an avid golfer and baseball fan, especially for his beloved Chicago Cubs.

Michael is survived by his loving spouse, Stacey (Alesandrini) Butler of Alton; loving father to sons Jeremy (Jessica) Linley and Jonathon (April) Linley, both of Godfrey, daughter Jacqueline (Paul) Aholt of Godfrey, and stepdaughter Casey Butler of Belleville; four grandchildren Owen, Cooper and Isabel Linley, and Ryder Aholt; brother Mark (Shari) Linley of Walnut; and four nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeffrey and Jordan Linley.
