Quilting program in Tiskilwa

Quilter and “Hobo Quilts” author Debra Henninger presented a program about the secret language of hobos on Oct. 8 to an audience of 50-plus history and quilt buffs at Tiskilwa’s Museum on Main. Using dozens of colorful quilts to tell the story, Debi explained more than 55 symbols marked on houses and fence posts by America’s hobos to warn or encourage their fellow travelers.
