PRINCETON — The Early Beginnings Young Parenting Group will meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Princeton Public Library today, Thursday. Also, the Friends of the Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. to discuss “Darling Jim” by Christian Moerk; and Bob Welch will perform Songs of the Civil War at 7 p.m.
Monday through Oct. 20 is Teen Read Week. The Monday Night Movie will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Nick and Nora are at their wise-cracking best as they investigate murder and racketeering at a local racetrack.
On Tuesday, the Preschool Story Hour will be held, with the theme pumpkins. All area preschoolers and their parents or guardians are welcome to attend. Also, Gamma Phi will meet at 4:30 p.m.; WUNT will meet at 6:30 p.m.; and Talk About: will meet at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, United Health Care will meet at 9:30 a.m. The library board will meet at 7 p.m., and the public is invited to attend.
On Oct. 18, the Bureau County Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon; the ITC Committee will meet at 4 p.m.; and the Illinois Valley Flute Ensemble will offer a performance with a spooky theme at 6:30 p.m.
WYANET — The Raymond A. Sapp Library 2nd Thursday@the Library program in October will be its second annual Cemetery Walk. Last year’s walk was so well received the library board decided to try it again. Several board members have done research on some historical figures interred in the Wyanet Cemetery. Like last year, board members and staff will be the “guides” on the historical tour of the cemetery. The tour will start at the cannon at 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday. The library asks that those interested in the tour park along the street.
LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Public Library has received the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant funds. The projected date for classes to begin is the first week in November. If you are interested in signing up for a class or have suggestions for classes, contact the library at 815-638-2356 or by email at llibrary@live.com. Classes will be offered free of charge to people in the LaMoille-Clarion Library District and to persons outside of the district as space allows.
Also, CVS Pharmacy is offering a flu clinic at the library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The charge for the flu vaccine will be $33.99, however, there will be no charge to Medicare patients. Please call the library if you have questions.
SHEFFIELD — Enjoy a delicious meal and support the Sheffield Public Library at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Community Center in Sheffield. Award winning chefs Monika Sudakov of Chestnut Street Inn and Eran Salzman of ZBest will both be providing some of their favorite soups, as well as Belluccio’s tasty freshly-baked bread. Cost is $5. TISKILWA — “On the Wings of Heroes” by Richard Peck is the book to be discussed at the Tiskilwa Public Library’s next book club/dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

OHIO — On Wednesday, Bureau County Extension Service will be at the Ohio Public Library to present its “Ecobots” program for kids 8 years old and up. This program will have kids build their own robots and is sure to be a fun event. The program starts at 4 p.m. Stop in to the library to sign up today.
Also, the library is taking orders for Butter Braids at the library until Nov. 2.
NEPONSET — The Neponset Public Library will host “The Last Lecture” book discussion at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27, based on the book by Randy Pausch.
The library will observe National Gaming Day @ Your Library at 1 p.m. Nov. 3. Play cards, board games, computer games, video games and more. There will be lots of fun and pizza.
SPRING VALLEY — Story time is held every Tuesday at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. in the children’s room of the library. There is a story and a craft-related project during this time for preschool children through third grade. A parent must accompany their child. This is free of charge.
A Rules of the Road Review Course will be presented at the library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 9. This program is a great review class and is free to the public. Please call the library to register at 815-663-4741.
HENRY — The Henry Public Library will host Mark Dvorak – The American Folk Song at 7 p.m. today, Thursday.
