The great pumpkin race is Nov. 3

PRINCETON — The Princeton Park District and Princeton Optimist Club will host pumpkin races from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 on Main Street and Marion Street in downtown Princeton.

The pumpkin race is a simple concept. Take a carved pumpkin, decorate it, and insert two independent axles through the pumpkin and attach wheels. Participants then can race their pumpkin against competitors. Rules and event information is available at the Bureau County Metro Center.

Age divisions are 3-17, and 18 and up. Entry fees are a minimum of three canned goods for the food pantry for those under 18 years old and $25 for adult racers.
