I write this letter on behalf of my family. We were shocked to learn that Sen. Rezin has refused Senate candidate Chris Benson’s personal invitation to five debates from September until the election. There has not been one debate held in Bureau County, and I feel we are ignored. Bureau County is just as much a part of the 38th District as LaSalle or Grundy. Why are we always left out?

Why would Sen. Rezin refuse? If she is proud of her record and her positions, you would think that she would want to shout it from the roof tops. Does this mean she is afraid or hiding? It would seem so.

I believe that we deserve to hear both of these candidates speak about their positions, so we can make an educated decision about who we should vote for.
