Diana James

WALNUT — Diana Elizabeth James, 92, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.

Diana was born Ogmore Vale, South Wales in Great Britain, on Dec. 17, 1919, to Gomer Edwin Lewis and Annie Lewis. She married William H. James in Cardiff, Wales, on May 27, 1939. He preceded her in death in August 2001.

She was a homemaker and a CNA at Colonial Hall until retiring. In her earlier years, she worked in London for a prominent family and during World War II she built trench mortars in Cardiff factory. In 1949, William, Diana and son Michael immigrated to the United States.
