Ohio sweeps Malden Tournament

MALDEN — Ohio went 3-0 to take top honors in the annual Malden Invitational basketball tournament Thursday night.

The Bulldogs defeated LaMoille 23-12 to wrap up their tournament prize. Neponset (2-1) claimed second place with a 39-10 win over the host Musketeers. LaMoille (1-2) took third and Malden (0-3) finished fourth.

All-American Basketball team honors went to Roberto Ruiz of Neponset, Noah Jilderda and Nathan Bousum of Ohio, Dominic Moore and Chase Billhorn of LaMoille.

Malden was named as the Best Cheerleading Squad with All-American Cheerleaders honors going to Kendra Cain and Emma Elmore of Malden, Lauren Silfies of LaMoille, Emma Gualandi of Neponset, Paige Connor of Ohio and Katelyn Ross of Mendota.
