Thursday BCGS program will feature property history research

PRINCETON — Esther Tracy of Princeton, retired school teacher and past president of Bureau County Genealogical Society, will be the speaker at the Thursday meeting of the Bureau County Genealogical Society.

This program was postponed from August when the Society experienced air conditioning failure. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Society library, 629 S. Main St., Princeton. The public is invited to attend this free program.

Tracy’s PowerPoint program will be of interest to realtors, property owners and history lovers. Creating a positive property history can be valuable in increasing the marketability of one’s property. The search for that history can be quite fascinating and lead to exciting discoveries in many cases. A project created by the speaker called Genealogy of Property Project will be explained, and it is Tracy’s hope that many area citizens will contribute to Bureau County historical research by becoming involved in this project through researching their own property’s history. Whether a home is new or old it is still sitting on historic land.
