Annual toy drive

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its seventh annual toy drive for the less fortunate children in the area. New, unwrapped toys for children age 1 to 12 years may be dropped off at the Legion Post Home vestibule at 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton anytime during the day through Dec. 8. Auxiliary workshop

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its monthly veterans workshop at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Members should note the date change. The Unit will do the veterans treat bags and also the boxes for overseas soldiers. Coffee and snacks will be available after the workshop. Vendor fair

PRINCETON — St. Louis CCW of Princeton will sponsor a vendors fair, “Extravaganza Extraordinaire,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at the St. Louis Parish Hall, 617 Park Ave. West in Princeton. More than 30 vendors from around the state will present their products. Admission is free and free finger foods and drinks will be provided.

Benefit planned

WYANET — “We Love You Lauren,” a benefit for Lauren Hasbrook, will be Nov. 10 at Rediger’s Auction Service in Wyanet. Dinner will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by an auction and dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and includes dinner and chance to win $500. Chili and soup supper

WYANET — The third annual Wyanet Historical Society chili and soup supper will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Historical Hall, located at the corner of Second and Maple streets in Wyanet. Beverly Grant’s chili, plus homemade chicken noodle soup made by Clara Oloffson, will be served along with relishes, crackers and desserts made by the Historical Society ladies. Tickets are $7 for adults and children 5 and under are free. The Museum will be open to browse through the various exhibits, which include items from the schools, businesses, railroads and the canal.

Golden Eagles

WYANET — The Wyanet Golden Eagles will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Anna’s Country Cafe and Pizza, 102 E. Main St. in Wyanet. Lunch is “pay for your own” with dessert provided. All seniors, 50 and over, are invited to attend. For more information, call 815-699-7768.

Bake sale

SPRING VALLEY — St. Margaret’s Auxiliary will host a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the hospital’s lower lobby. A variety of homemade baked goods will be available. Everyone is welcome. In addition to the bake sale, two drawings will be held to find the winners of the Auxiliary raffles to benefit the Janyce Stuckert Scholarship Fund. Raffle tickets are available in the hospital cafeteria during lunch hours and in the volunteer services office on the second floor.
