Purse/accessory sale

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a purse and accessories sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 9 in the north lobby of the hospital. Major credit cards will be accepted. Proceeds will go toward needed equipment for the hospital. For more information, call 815-879-7431.

Coffeehouse

PRINCETON — Singer/songwriter Ben Bedford will perform at the Princeton Coffeehouse at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27. Bedford has been hailed as “one of the best of the new generation of American singer-songwriters” (Len Jaffe, “Sounding Board”). Tickets are $12 at the door. Homemade desserts and fair trade coffee will be available. The coffeehouse is at the Open Prairie UCC, 25 E. Marion St., Princeton. Information night

PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library will host an information night for audio enthusiasts of all stripes at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. This “Science Fair for Audio Geeks” will feature tabletop displays by area audio-technophiles on topics ranging from antique audio (vacuum-tube radios and Edison cylinders and gramophones) to HAM radio to current digital audio virtual reality. The presenters will include Doug Criner, Sean Borys, Jim Van Fleet, Lou Maxwell and others. Each presenter will be available to discuss his or her specialty and answer any questions. Chili supper

MALDEN — An all-you-can-eat chili supper will be held in conjunction with the Malden vs. DePue Junior High School basketball game from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 5-14. Tickets are available at the door. The meal will serve as a ticket to the game. Many raffle items available.

Free workshop

LASALLE — Family Matters PTIC and the Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living will host a free workshop where participants will learn about functional behavior analysis, positive behavioral interventions, behavior intervention plans in the IEP and suspension/expulsion safeguards for students including manifestation determination. The workshop will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at IVCIL, 18 Gunia Drive. Participants must register by Nov. 8 at 866-436-7842, ext. 107. If accommodations are needed, call two weeks prior to the training date. Light refreshments will be provided.
