Bachman speaks to retired teachers

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Retired Teachers Association met Sept. 20 at the Princeton Public Library.
Jim Bachman, executive director for the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, was the speaker.
Bachman presented pertinent information related to the pension and health insurance issues that state legislators are struggling with currently. The serious fiscal condition of the state of Illinois and any solutions being debated concerning health insurance and pension revisions are of real concern to retired teachers throughout the state because they affect their economic well being.
The BCRTA is a unit within the 33,000 member IRTA. IRTA is the only organization that exclusively represents retired teachers in Illinois.
