On Nov. 5, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at a meeting to be held at the Bureau Township Hall at the corner of 2100 North Avenue and 1500 East Street next to the former township school gym and ag building, the Bureau Township Board of Trustees plans to vote on increasing salaries to be paid to all the township officials of Bureau Township for the upcoming term of 2013-2017.

The board voted in 2008 to significantly raise their salaries (the part-time township road commissioner by more than 300 percent from $5,000 to $20,400-plus per year).

I was told by the township supervisor at the time that this increase in salary would be totally paid for by the windmills which would be coming in shortly.
