| The Elite Eight added up for a 14-0 season record for the Princeton Tigress tennis team this season with a clean sweep of all dual meets. Contributing to the 14-0 mark were Jen O’Neil (front row) and Makenzey Wilson; and Kate Morrow (back row), Taylor Behrends, Mackenzie Schafer, Stephanie Blessman, Emma Reidner and Courtney Webb. |

Scoring for the 2012 tennis team’s going to be changed from the traditional 15-love to 14-love. As in 14-0, Princeton.
The Tigresss team had 14 dual meets up and 14 dual meets down for a perfect 14-0 record. Or in tennis terms, we call it 14-love.
No Princeton team of Connie Lind’s has ever gone undefeated in dual match play like this one did this season. Lind said never in her wildest dreams she imagined they’d have the opportunity to finish undefeated. She said they simply found a way to win.
Along the way, the Tigresses won the Mendota Invite and the NCIC Dual to the Finish, took second in the Sterling Newman Invite and the L-P Invite, placed third at the Rock Island Gold and finished the season as sectional runners-up to perennial power Ottawa.
As they did throughout the season, their final serve comes as together as the 2012 BCR Co-Players of the Year
Jen O’Neil-Jr. (No. 1 singles): The Tigresses’ top singles player made her way to state, placing second at the Ottawa Sectional. Although she did not win a match there, O’Neill said it lets her know where she needs to get to make it back next year and improve. She finished with a 22-10 record, claiming second at the Sterling Newman Invite, third at Mendota Invite, fifth at the L-P Invite and seventh at the Rock Island Gold.
Makenzey Wilson-Sr. (#2 Singles): For someone who never picked up a tennis racquet until her junior season, the singles standout posted a a sparkling 24-4 record. The PHS senior, aka Venus Wilson, made it to the third round of sectionals and won the Mendota and L-P Invites and placed third at Sterling Newman and Rock Island.
Stephanie Blessman-Sr. & Mackenzie Schafer-Sr. (#1 Doubles): These partners had a history together, having played their way to state in 2011. Although they didn’t make it back, bowing in the third round of sectionals. They posted a 19-8 record. Highlight included a first at Mendota, thirds at Sterling Newman and L-P and fourth at Rock Island.
Kate Morrow-Sr. & Taylor Behrend-Jr. (#2 Doubles): The PHS pair made it to the third round of sectionals, bowing out with a 17-9 record. Their season highjlights include winning the Mendota Invite and placing third at Sterling Newman and fourth at
L-P and Rock Island Gol
Courtney Webb-Jr. and Emma Reidner-Jr.(#3 Doubles): The Tigresses tandem finished with a 10-3 record, a second-place showing at the Rock Island Invite.
