2012 BCR Soccer Honor Roll

Carlos Acosta (DePue, Jr., F): The BCR Player of the Year scored 31 goals on the season, with two against Princeton at regionals, including a game-tying overtime goal.

Raider Keenan (Princeton, Jr.. MID): The senior co-captain was the Tigers’ go-to guy for corner kicks (63) and had nine goals, third-high on the team, coming from his midfield position.

Starr Mecum (Princeton, So., F): By any name, the PHS soph was a real star with the Tigers’ big club. He was second on the varsity with 22 goals and assists with five.

Ivan Mendez (DePue, Sr., D): The senior defender was a key piece in the Little Giant defensive wall

Hugo Perez (DePue, Jr., MF): The junior offensive midfield contributed eight goals and eight assists for the Little Giants.

Nolan Piper (Princeton, Sr., GK): After being the man on goal for three years, the PHS senior showed his team spirit play by sharing keeper duties this year with classmate Miguel Austin. He had 82 saves with just 23 goals allowed in 23 games.

Isaac Reyes (DePue, Sr., D): A stalwart on defense, Reyes also contributed four assists and one goal on the year.

Dylan Schaefer (Princeton, Jr., F): The Tigers’ leading scorer had 22 goals and 11 assists with 76 shots on goal. The Tigers’ Most Outstanding Offensive Award winner now has scored 36 career goals with 15 assists.

Austen Stewart (Princeton, Sr., D): The defensive stopper came up big on the other side of field with a goal on a free kick to cement the Tigers’ 3-1 win over Alleman for the regional championship.
