PRINCETON — The stars are ganging up on Richard Widmark in Wednesday’s series finale at the Princeton Public Library.

In the latest Widmark Wednesday movie, stars Sean Connery, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Jacqueline Bisset, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave, John Gielgud and Michael York play characters riding on a train through Europe who all become suspects in the murder of an American business tycoon portrayed by Princeton’s own Richard Widmark.

The 1974 film, which stars Albert Finney as a famous detective intent on solving the crime, is the seventh and final installment of the current Widmark Wednesday film series at the Princeton Public Library.

The movie was nominated for six Academy Awards. Bergman won the film’s sole Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

Show time is 6:30 p.m. on Halloween Wednesday. Admission is free.

Widmark, who graduated from Princeton High School in 1932, appeared in more than 60 Hollywood movies from 1947’s “Kiss of Death” to 1991’s “True Colors.”
