PAC will present Christmas musical Nov. 17 and 18

PRINCETON — The Prairie Arts Council will present “The Meaning of the Star” Nov. 17 and 18. The annual Christmas musical is presented during the weekend of the Princeton Christmas Walk at the Prairie Arts Center, 24 Park Ave. East, Princeton.

Local playwright Rachel Gorenz originally wrote and directed this play in 2006, and is bringing it back this year with a new cast of talented children who sing and dance their way through the timeless story of the spirit of love and the joy of Christmas. The play tells the delightful story of four siblings who don’t understand their grandfather’s lack of Christmas spirit. The children are whisked back in time, to the 1940s, by three mischievous elves to the place where their grandparents first fell in love. Through a series of adventures and misadventures the children come to understand their grandfather and upon their return to the present, are able to unlock the love within him and help him to see how their grandmother’s spirit lives on to make Christmas special.

The play includes area children in second through eighth grade and is directed by Rachel and David Gorenz.
