Trevin Kennedy named DAR recipient

PRINCETON — The 2012-13 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award winner from Bureau Valley High School in Manlius is Trevin Kennedy, the son Kevin and Treva Kennedy. Chosen by the faculty and senior class, Kennedy was selected on the basis of the following criteria: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

Kennedy has been on the honor roll throughout high school and was inducted into the National Honor Society as a junior. He is active in various school and community activities. He participated in football, basketball, baseball and bass fishing during high school. He is in Varsity Club, FFA, History Club, Home Ec Club, Advanced Science Club and is a math tutor. He also is the winner of the Elks Teen of the Month for October. Kennedy would like to attend Iowa State University to study ag business.

The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is again sponsoring the Good Citizens’ program for all high schools in Bureau County. The National Association of Secondary School Principals has placed this program on the national advisory list of contests and activities for 2011-12.
